MahjMellow started with a lesson. Nina, an experienced mahjong teacher and tournament player, first introduced Amanda to the game as her student. It didn’t take long for Amanda to get hooked.

What began as lessons around the mahjong table quickly turned into a shared love of the game, a friendship, and eventually, a passion for tournament play. Today, Nina and Amanda both compete in mahjong tournaments, with plenty of wins between them—and an appreciation for the game that only continues to grow.

As teachers, players, and competitors, we knew exactly what we wanted in a mahjong set: classic, beautiful tiles that feel special enough for your home table, but are designed to actually be played. Tiles that are approachable for someone learning their first Charleston, yet tournament-ready for experienced players.

That idea became MahjMellow. We create timeless, thoughtfully designed mahjong tiles and accessories at an accessible price point, without sacrificing quality or style. From your first lesson to your next tournament—and all the games with friends in between—our pieces are made to be played, loved, and brought to the table again and again.

Because whether you’re brand new to mahjong or playing to win, there’s always a seat at our table.

Love,
